We are recruiting a Principal Engineer - Software V&V for a Permanent Position with a leading Defense Group. :

Required Contextual Background: the V&V Test & Integration Engineer should have solid experience in the ability to:

. Understand the System Engineering Process and Life Cycle, especially:

o The V-model

o Test and certification requirements dictated by DO-178C and related standards

o Model-based System/Software Engineering

. Understanding of verification and validation in a real-time, embedded, avionics environment.

. Understand and interpret graphical models of system/software requirements and designs, with UML or SysML a preference.

System Engineering experience:

. Assist System Engineers with the definition and verification of statements in system and subsystem specifications (e.g. PIDS, SRS, etc.), including reviewing the validity and testability of stated software verification and validation methodologies and clauses in such specifications

. Interpret the requirements in system or subsystem specifications to generate comprehensive and high quality test plans and test procedures that ensure that the original requirements can be verified and validated

. Schedule and chair test reviews.

. Maintain tests under configuration control and appropriate baselines.

. Design tests for the maximum re-usability between different projects/product lines and variants.

. Ensure that traceability to and from requirements to tests are maintained.

Testing and Integration:

. Set up the appropriate scenarios to enable the execution of the tests outlined in the procedures.

. Execute the tests against the test procedures and log the steps and outcomes.

. Generate test result reports.

. The above includes the definition and performing of integration testing, i.e. define and perform tests where software components that satisfy LLRs are combined into higher level, integrated components that satisfy HLRs.

. Ensure that traceability is maintained to and from requirements are maintained.

. Assist with setting up tests for debugging and fault finding purposes

. Apart from tests based on the stated requirements, identify any additional test requirements that will improve the quality and safety of the product to be delivered, e.g. negative testing (rainy day scenario). Ensure that traceability is also maintained for such new test requirements.

Test Environment:

. Set up and configure LabVIEW (or similar) for testing

. Software coding & scripting: be able to write tests at various levels, as may be required, e.g.:

o C-coding

o Python scripts

o C#, Java, etc.

. Use of hardware to prepare and measure the results of tests, e.g. oscilloscope, logic analyser, power supply, etc.

Pro-active Support:

. Assist with setting up best practices processes for the test domain.

. Articulate clearly and in advance any new Test Bench requirements to the Test Bench Engineer

Required qualifications :

. 15 years' experience in the software engineering V&V domain.

. At least 5 years' experience in the certification methodologies of software

. Knowledge of software subsystem testing and integration
