JOB TITLE: PRINCIPAL ENGINEER- METALLURGY & CORROSION

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accountable for overall discipline related activities for the successful completion of project within allotted schedule, manpower and costs.

Perform corrosion assessment, through the study of H&MB, PFD and process design basis.

Prepare and issue material selection reports and drawings, corrosion management manuals and other technical documents like painting/coating specifications.

Review, understand, challenge, and identify any gaps in the customer requirements.

Coordinate technical issues with other Engineering Disciplines, Quality, Construction etc., as required. Provide the necessary inputs/data to other disciplines as per the requirements and procedures.

Review and address the Lessons learned from past projects where specific corrosion / coating issues were observed and provide mitigation measures, preventive measures.

Participate in safety and design review meetings e.g., HAZOP, HAZID, 3D Model, along with Client and representatives of other engineering disciplines.

Meet with vendor, Subcontractor representatives, review vendor/subcontractor technical offers related to coating and corrosion, inspect at vendor works and set-up workshops and provide assistance to Quality, Construction and other Departments as required.

Interface and provide clarifications, guidance and technical support to Construction and Commissioning teams as required.

Set up at the module yards for suitability to satisfy project requirements with respect to surface preparation, handling, and coating applications, including the often-stringent timelines required between coats.

Aim & achieve continuous improvement in processes related to painting/coating/corrosion.

Conduct awareness sessions for the project team.

Propose repair method statements for issue resolution.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in metallurgical engineering.

Minimum of 20 years related to offshore renewable energy platforms, oil & gas/petrochemical Offshore experience with a background of working for EPC/consultancy organizations and at least 5 years in managerial position.

Corrosion assessment and mitigation for Offshore environment by specifying the right material and corrosion protection.

Experience with Offshore Standards, e.g., DNV, NORSOK, ISO etc.

Experience in coating systems applicable for offshore/ renewable energy projects.

Performing root cause for any painting/coating, corrosion related failures and come up with preventive and corrective measures.

Fabrication yard experience in overviewing the paint application/ corrosion protection activities.

Offshore Platform experience especially in North Sea/Europe.

Experience with Tennet & System Engineering is preferred.
