DP World Dubai is hiring a highly experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced port crane and terminal equipment projects. This role serves as a Subject Matter Expert and center of excellence for all electrical engineering activities, providing technical leadership and ensuring compliance with international standards. The successful candidate will oversee project delivery, electrical design, and integration processes to achieve performance, safety, and cost-efficiency goals across DP World's global logistics and port operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and automation activities for port cranes, ensuring compliance with IEC, IEEE, ISO, and related standards.
• Oversee system upgrades for PLCs, drives, SCADA, and HMI systems across multiple crane models.
• Approve electrical design documentation, drawings, and cost estimates for major engineering projects.
• Conduct detailed design reviews of crane and port equipment to ensure safety, efficiency, and operational reliability.
• Specify and validate components such as motors, drives, sensors, and control systems from leading suppliers (Siemens, ABB, Fuji).
• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control layouts for port cranes and reefer rack systems.
• Coordinate with mechanical and automation teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
• Provide expert guidance, mentorship, and technical support to engineering teams during all project phases.
• Manage procurement coordination, materials tracking, and vendor relations to ensure timely project completion.
• Prepare and maintain risk assessments, inspection reports, and technical documentation for final project handovers.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and performance optimization within engineering operations.
• Ensure all designs and activities adhere to DP World's HSE policies and operational safety standards.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (Master's preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical design, automation, or modernization projects within cranes or heavy-industry machinery.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar design tools.
• Proven track record in PLC, VFD, and SCADA system integration and OEM-level upgrades.
• Expertise in substation, switchgear, and low-voltage system design.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination abilities.
• Knowledge of electrical standards and safety regulations for industrial environments.
