The successful candidate will take over the management and mentoring of the ecology team, be responsible for technical delivery, be responsible for technical delivery, work winning and eventually the development of new nature service lines for the region.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a combination of field survey experience within the Middle East and the ability to write/present technical reports (EcIA, EIA, Baseline Surveys etc) and to assume responsibility for commercial input to and development of future projects.
This shall include the requirement to liaise with both clients, input from experts in other disciplines and regulators in the delivery and presentation of contracted work and to conduct assessments, inclusive of any necessary field and baseline aspects.
There will also be a focus on management of a more junior ecologist and growing the team to deliver ME based ecology work and, over time, more diversified nature offerings.
Key Requirements, Skills Knowledge & Expertise
Key Requirements
We are looking for candidates having English as their first language or with a solid history of report-writing in English, combined with a minimum of a BSc in a relevant environmental/ecology/biology subject. Strong field survey experience and the ability to self-manage the timely delivery of projects is essential.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:To comply with local regulatory guidelines candidates should have either a MSc in a relevant environmental/ecological subject + 7yrs of applied work experience, or a BSc Degree and 10yrs of applied work experience
Practical knowledge of ecological monitoring and its role in EIA - preferably combined with knowledge of the Middle East's habitats and species
An understanding of the approach and process steps of environmental impact assessment.
Knowledge of UAE & regional environmental regulations and their application
Good communication skills including confidence to articulate and present EIA study findings within a workshop environment and interact with the regulatory authorities as necessary
Strong report writing skills - with a proven history of preparing technical reports in English
A flexible and dynamic approach including the ability to manage a team
