Position Overview
Principal Design Engineer roles in Dubai infrastructure projects require advanced leadership in electrical and dry utilities design, deep authority coordination experience, and the ability to deliver complex infrastructure solutions from concept through IFC. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare dry utilities master plans from concept to detailed master plan stage, including HV and LV corridor planning, ROW definition, and multi-discipline coordination
• Develop master plan reports covering demand load calculations, equipment sizing, protection coordination, and tie-in requirements from concept to IFC
• Design electrical and ELV systems for STPs, RO plants, pumping stations, and associated infrastructure including lighting, small power, earthing, lightning protection, telecom, security, and fire alarm systems
• Prepare design reports, specifications, tender documents, and supporting documentation and secure approvals through coordination with clients, authorities, and subconsultants
• Review designs prepared by other consultants and issue structured design review reports with recommendations
• Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, and technical bid evaluation reports
• Perform value engineering studies and prepare clear recommendation reports
• Respond to contractor RFIs and review and approve key technical submittals related to electrical works and dry utilities
• Use Civil 3D, Navisworks, BIM tools, and Revit to review clash analyses and resolve coordination issues
• Independently develop and supervise HV, MV, and LV system designs for large and mega infrastructure projects, including defining scope, budgets, schedules, and reporting progress
• Liaise with electricity authorities such as DEWA, SEWA, ADDC, SEC, FEWA, and Civil Defense to obtain power supply master plan approvals, load NOCs, and design approvals
• Act as project or discipline lead engineer on assigned projects and provide technical guidance to CAD designers and junior to mid-level engineers

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputable institution
• Minimum 12 years of experience in electrical design of large-scale infrastructure projects
• Strong hands-on experience in HV, MV, and LV electrical design to local and international standards
• Thorough knowledge of NEC, IEEE, ANSI, IESNA, NFPA, IEC, and GCC authority standards
• Strong infrastructure background with experience on primary substations, HV corridors, distribution and pocket substations, MV and LV networks, calculations, and technical reporting
• Experience analyzing requirements for both greenfield and brownfield projects
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and guide teams of engineers
