GFG Alliance is looking for an autonomous, resourceful, experienced, purpose driven Climate Finance Principal, to join and materially contribute to our Carbon Neutrality by 2030 strategy (CN30). Based in Dubai and reporting to the Group CFO, you will be collaborating locally and internationally, with central and regional Sustainability teams, Public Policy, Engineering, Risk and Governance, M&A, Commercial teams and Procurement to standardize and integrate finance metrics across all business activities, processes and roadmaps. Combining your experience, strategic thinking and proactiveness, you will be a key advisor across all organizational levels, you will help to develop and embed the Sustainable Finance strategy and roll this out across the businesses within the Group. Part of your responsibilities will be leading Climate Risk modelling activities across our diverse and international footprint, in addition to integrating climate risk models and metrics into mid and long-term business planning and budgeting. Finally, you will be a key advisor on Financial related climate policy globally, supporting the Public Policy team in advocacy efforts across different jurisdictions. Job Responsibilities
Work with the sustainability and finance teams to develop and co-ordinate Climate Risk modelling and mitigation strategies
Articulate the outcome of the climate risk analysis in line with the TCFD framework
Understanding of IFRS standard.
Translate qualitative policy and transition related risks and opportunities into financial impacts across our steel transformation and transition plan.
Outline Taxonomy alignment improvement across the businesses.
Act as a key partner to local environmental teams in validating indicators aligned with Carbon Price compliance (ETS, Tax, etc)
Collaborate and validate carbon price models.
Support the business positioning in the low carbon / green steel commercial segment
Participate in data strategy digitalization / consolidation projects as the Sustainable finance expert
Participate actively in upskilling the global Finance and Environmental teams.
Experience & Qualification
8+ years of experience in Corporate Finance, Fund Management, Investment Banking or equivalent area
3+ years\' experience in Climate Finance or related field.
University degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Political Sciences, or related disciplines
Track record of climate modelling aligned with TCFD
Experience in developing and implementing strategy in industry and/or in management consulting as hands-on advisor
Proven ability to handle multiple stakeholders at different seniority level
Leadership and strategic management experience
Results driven, with a high degree of autonomy
Knowledge of main climate frameworks and International Regulations
Exposure and knowledge on European Taxonomy
Experience in a global role, advising multi-jurisdictions teams (Europe, Australia preferred)
Experience with Data visualization software
Fluent in English
Advanced computer skills, particularly in MS Office (Excel, word)
