Principal Backend Engineer
Remote (+/- 4 hours of Dubai)
SGP are pleased to be partnered with a hugely successful start-up in their search for an experienced Principal Backend Engineer. Our client are revolutionising the way companies manage people, from HR and Operations all the way through to payroll and payments. The Principal Backend Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of highly scalable systems, take during discussions regarding features, architecture and improvements. Mentor more junior members of the team through paired programming and most importantly ensuring to maintain a high level of code quality across the entire architecture of the platform.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
- 8+ years experience as a Software Engineer working on backend systems, with at least 5 of these years working with Python and ideally the Django framework.
- Strong understanding of design patterns including DDD, asynchronous programming, queuing, logging, security, caching and data structures.
- Experience with working within cloud systems such as GCP or AWS.
- Good working knowledge of API design, conventions and best practices.
- It is essential you have excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
