About the Role

We are looking for an outstanding Primary Teacher to join our team.
Applicants will be fully qualified teachers with exceptional subject knowledge and experience.

Key Accountabilities
Embrace and encourage the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS Core Values.
Deliver the required curriculum; demonstrating accurate and up to date knowledge of curriculum and subject matter.
Plan and deliver quality lessons to motivate students. Create and utilise appropriate materials and the classroom environment to cater for different learning styles.
Show written evidence of planning and preparation on request. Establish and maintain records of curriculum and year plans, attendance, teaching resources, assessment plans etc.
Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
Teach students assigned according to their individual needs using appropriate teaching
strategies that meet student needs and abilities eg late-entering students, ESL,
low academic ability, gifted and talented etc.
Set and mark work. Assess, record and report on the academic
development, progress and attainment of students and use assessment to
ensure the curriculum meets the individual student's needs.
Display competence in using media and technology in the classroom.
Promote the general progress and well-being of students and provide guidance to students on educational matters.
Communicate with persons outside the school where appropriate (eg Ministry of Education officials).
Participate in appraisal and Performance Management procedures and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Work alongside colleagues on the preparation and development of teaching materials, resources, courses of study and pastoral arrangements.
Participate in, and lead where appropriate, the co-curricular and extra-curricular programmes in the school. Promote good working relationships through active leadership and sharing of ideas, materials and experiences.
Monitor and supervise safe and appropriate student behavior. Plan and implement strategies to encourage self-discipline and manage disruptive behavior.
Model and encourage cultural awareness and understanding and promote a love of learning.
Assist in the planning and organising of school events and functions (eg inter-house competitions, concerts, school plays, prize days etc).
Communicate and meet with parents regularly promoting the GEMS philosophy and core values; keep parents regularly informed of students' progress while respecting the confidentiality of student-related information
Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical work day, where the tasks require additional commitment.
Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
Perform other duties as requested by direct & dotted reporting line managers / supervisors.
Academic and Pastoral Responsibilities:
Delivering effective student-centred lessons in a well-planned, vibrant learning environment
Supporting and liaising closely with middle leaders, SENCO, administrators and other teachers
Work directly with other teachers to improve and develop skills, knowledge and pedagogy so that student outcomes are improved.
Effective contribution to team planning
Work directly with Section/Key Stage Leaders and Heads of Department to support the improvement of academic standards in every section of the school
Contribute to the Quality Assurance programme for parent engagement to ensure outstanding standards in parent communication and engagement
Be familiar with the UAE framework for teaching to ensure a minimum standard of "good" teaching in all lessons
Use and welcome mentoring/coaching methods to develop reflective practice and encourage the use of new learning strategies
Conduct supportive peer lesson observations and help to set up actions plans as required
Play an active role in the teaching, learning and assessment quality assurance process as appropriate and when required
In a school where the majority (80%) of teaching colleagues are not UK-trained, all UK-trained teachers recruited are expected to be lead practitioners and contribute to school and colleague development accordingly, sharing resources, strategies and best practice as and when appropriate
Attend internal and external events, take part in peer reviews, and be proactive in developing own continuous professional development
Identify areas of good practice and develop and share resources as exemplars
Develop, promote and involve teaching staff in creative initiatives to share good practice
Ensure that observation outcomes inform appraisal action plans
Monitor and drive improvements in the quality of written (marking) and verbal feedback to learners
Ensure that the curriculum is supported and underpinned by effective schemes of work and well-differentiated planning of lessons
Ensure that all documentation supporting teaching, learning and assessment (schemes of work, lesson plans etc.) meets the standards laid down by GEMS and WSF

General Responsibilities:
Promote and model the Code of Conduct and GEMS Core Values
Undertake other professional duties as reasonably delegated by Line Manager (LM) such as: teaching, recruitment, cover, after-school duty, ASP, MOE formalities, covering for LM when absent, inspection preparation, SEF, SDP, etc.
Promote the school positively with community and GEMS while maintaining complete confidentiality
Respect local culture, customs and laws
Meet deadlines as requested by LM
Contribute to the development of teaching and learning, focusing on pedagogy, standards and progress
Ensure academic excellence in internal and external assessments as appropriate.
Contribute to the professional development programme to ensure high quality learning and teaching
Promote the school to all stakeholders and the wider community.
Follow, support and help to develop all of the School's aims, its vision, improvement plans, policies and practices.

Qualifications and knowledge:
A certified teaching qualification, such as Bachelor of Education, Bachelor in Early Primary Education, or BA in Education, regular 3 or 4 years course. Knowledge of the use of ICT in schools to aid teaching and learning.

Skills:
Skilled teacher with solid commitment to teaching and learning. Desire to provide Outstanding teaching and learning and strong subject knowledge in relevant area.
Aspiration to work in a world class school with real prospects for enhancing their career.
Excellent communication skills able to build relationships with students and colleagues and contribute to wider school life.

Experience:
At least 2 years of post-qualifying experience.
