Job Title: Primary Student Affairs Supervisor

Job Purpose:
The Primary Student Affairs Supervisor is a pivotal role dedicated to fostering a positive, safe, and nurturing school environment that supports the holistic development and well-being of all primary students. This individual will lead initiatives related to student behavior, welfare, activities, and community, ensuring every child feels valued, supported, and able to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Welfare & Behavior Management:
  • Act as the first point of contact for significant behavioral issues, implementing the school's behavior policy with fairness and consistency.
  • Provide support and guidance to teachers on effective classroom management and restorative practices.
  • Investigate and resolve student conflicts, bullying incidents, and other pastoral concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of significant behavioral incidents and interventions.
  • Pastoral Care & Safeguarding:
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of all primary students, acting as a designated safeguarding lead (DSL) or deputy.
  • Identify students who need emotional or social support and liaise with school counselors, learning support staff, and external agencies as needed.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for students who need someone to talk to.
  • Student Life & Activities:
  • Lead the organization and implementation of primary school assemblies, special events, house systems, and extracurricular activities.
  • Promote student leadership opportunities, such as student councils or peer mentoring programs.
  • Foster a strong sense of community, school spirit, and positive character traits among the student body.
  • Parent & Staff Collaboration:
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's well-being and behavior, building strong, collaborative partnerships.
  • Deliver training and updates to primary staff on pastoral care policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Work closely with the Primary Leadership Team to develop and review policies related to student affairs.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • A valid teaching license/certification or an equivalent qualification in educational leadership/pastoral care.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a primary school setting, with significant experience in a pastoral or leadership role (e.g., Grade Level Lead, Head of Year, Counselor).
  • In-depth knowledge of child protection and safeguarding protocols.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a student-centered approach.
  • Must be currently available inside the UAE.
