An exciting opportunity is available at Sharjah English School for an innovative and highly-skilled primary class teacher with reponsibility for whole school Assessment. The Head of Assessment will:

• review and analyse assessment data at pupil, cohort and whole school level to ensure strategic development of the Primary school.
• analyse and interpret relevant national, local and school data as well as research and inspection evidence, to inform policies, practices, targets and teaching methods.
• monitor pupil progress on a termly basis and provide the Primary Leadership Team with summary information.
• organise and lead training as well as support and advise on the management and implementation of assessment practice throughout the school.

This role is a full time teaching commitment. In addition, the Head of Assessment will:

• be an outstanding classroom practitioner, skilled in adapting teaching to meet learners\xe2\x80\x99 needs
• demonstrate an in-depth and up to date knowledge of the English National Curriculum and possess the skills to innovate
• have a strong personal presence and demonstrate high level interpersonal skills
• have the ability to build effective working relationships with staff, parents and other stakeholders

Essential requirements:

• A certified UK teaching qualification, at degree level such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE and Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent)
• At least three years of full-time classroom teaching experience.

Desirable:

• An educational leadership qualification such as NPQML/ LT/ SL
