August 2024 Start - The school is a bilingual IB World School situated in Muscat, Oman serving the local Omani community, as well as the bilingual expatriate community. The school was established in 1993 under the ownership of the Royal Office and Royal Oman Police Pension Funds, on land donated by the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, to provide high quality international education whilst embracing traditional values based on the foundations of Omans cultural heritage.

The school is authorised to offer all three International Baccalaureate (IB) programs and the quality of its provision has been recognized with accreditation from the Council for International Schools (CIS). We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Primary Art Teacher with expertise in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program to join our distinguished institution in Oman. This role offers a unique opportunity to inspire young minds, fostering creativity and artistic expression within the framework of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). Key Responsibilities:

Art Instruction:

Develop and deliver engaging art lessons that align with the IB PYP curriculum, encouraging students to explore various art forms and mediums. Foster a love for creativity, self-expression, and artistic exploration among primary students. Curriculum Development:

Design and implement a dynamic and comprehensive art curriculum that integrates with the transdisciplinary themes of the IB PYP. Infuse global perspectives and diverse cultural influences into art lessons to promote a well-rounded artistic education. Individualized Learning:

Recognize and cater to the diverse learning styles of primary students, providing differentiated instruction to accommodate varying artistic abilities. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate art into other subject areas, creating cross-disciplinary learning opportunities. Assessment and Portfolio Development:

Develop effective assessment strategies to evaluate students' artistic progress and understanding. Assist students in creating and maintaining art portfolios, showcasing their development and achievements over time. Community Engagement:

Collaborate with local artists and arts organizations to provide students with exposure to diverse artistic perspectives. Organize and participate in art exhibitions, showcasing students' work to the school community and beyond. Professional Development:

Stay current with developments in art education and the IB PYP through ongoing professional development opportunities. Collaborate with fellow educators to share best practices and innovative approaches to teaching art in an IB context. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field. Teaching certification with a focus on art education. Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience, preferably with experience in the IB Primary Years Programme. Strong artistic skills and a comprehensive understanding of various art forms. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
