Job Description
The Presenter / Multimedia Journalist is a member of the business team responsible for presenting and for the development of Sky News Arabia business content. During your time slot, you will work under the direction of an Executive Producer / Senior Executive Producer to create and shape our business news coverage writing scripts, cutting pictures, finding guests, developing graphics, presenting the business news and other work as required both for TV and Social Media platforms. Your mission will be to produce original and market-leading business news while ensuring Sky News Arabia\'s editorial guidelines and values are adhered to and generate ideas, research topics, and initiate contacts with prospective guests and interviewees. However, your main role will be to produce business news for Sky News Arabia\'s television news channel and various digital platforms. You will embrace the full range of content delivery platforms. - Producing distinctive business news coverage for Sky News Arabia\'s business segment.
- Writing scripts for on-air talent, cutting pictures while using the newsroom production system, find guests, commission and write graphics, and other tasks as required.
- Working with Journalists within your team and across the newsroom and the news desk and online to cultivate a collaborative approach to news gathering and delivery across Sky News Arabia.
- Ideating and producing video content.
- Ensuring Sky News Arabia\'s editorial guidelines and values are adhered to.
- Required to work within a shift pattern across the whole week, including nights, to service a 24-hour news channel\'s needs.
- May be required to produce on location in Abu Dhabi, the Middle East, North Africa, and internationally.
- BA in journalism, Finance or another related social science major.
- Previous experience in a national or international broadcast news channel.
- Experience in newsroom production systems and desktop editing.
- Experience of or appreciation of the benefits and difficulties of cross-platform working.
- Evidence of a broad range of journalistic interests, including social affairs, international politics, public policy, world business and economic affairs, Sciences, and the Arts.
- Experience in television news, including television business news production.
- Experience in video production and/or graphic design.
- Obvious aptitude for and experience of presentation.
- Must be confident and assured on screen, at ease with lengthy periods of live presentation, and must possess the ability to cope with the extreme pressure.
- Must have a clear speaking voice and demonstrable confidence in front of the camera.
- Should have the ability and confidence to ad\xe2\x80\x90lib confidently when required.
- Should have the ability to conduct interviews with a wide\xe2\x80\x90range of interviewees with flair and authority.
- Ability to understand data-driven business graphics and market data, delivered on a proprietorial business data platform such as Reuters.
- Proven experience in content conception, development, and execution for digital platforms and younger-mind set audiences.
- Good knowledge of current post-production tools and processes and know your way around video editing software.
- An excellent journalist with strong editorial judgment.
- A strong spoken/written communicator can develop creative, clear, and concise storytelling for various audiences.
- A self-starter and strong teammate who can work independently and responsibly in a start-up-style environment.
- Shine with a \'can do\' positive attitude and love collaborating with multiple partners.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and rock at managing multiple assignments at once.
- Fluent in both written and spoken Arabic and English.
- Minimum of 5 years\' experience required.
