Job Description

The Prepayment Specialist will manage the full lifecycle of prepayment and structured finance transactions within a fast-paced commodity trading environment. Acting as the key liaison between the trading, finance, documentation, and banking teams, this standalone role is responsible for executing and monitoring prepayment agreements, ensuring accurate processing, and maintaining strong relationships with banks and financial institutions. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in trade finance operations, prepayment structures, and commodity documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and execute prepayment and structured finance transactions with global banks and counterparties.
Review and process documentation related to prepayment agreements, including contracts, drawdown requests, and compliance certificates.
Monitor prepayment exposures, repayments, and interest schedules to ensure accuracy and timely settlement.
Act as the primary point of contact for banks, traders, and internal stakeholders on prepayment-related matters.
Track and reconcile cash flows, ensuring proper booking in internal systems and alignment with finance and accounting teams.
Prepare internal reports and dashboards to provide management with visibility on outstanding exposures, collateral status, and repayment timelines.
Liaise with credit, legal, and risk teams to ensure all transactions comply with company policies and banking requirements.
Support negotiations of prepayment terms by providing operational insight and ensuring feasibility of proposed structures.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce operational risk, and enhance efficiency in prepayment and trade finance activities.
