The railway will redefine logistics and transport in the region, providing a modern, safe, efficient and sustainable network which will connect the seven emirates of the UAE to its neighbouring GCC countries. As a Power Engineer, you will Support the Resident Engineer in delivery of the power supply scope of the projects, performing site supervision of the installations and testing, ensuring timely completion of installation work, and making sure the equipment is installed, tested as per design and quality standards. You will undertake the responsibility of liaising with the Contractors to ensure that all installation related issues are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will be familiar with civil to systems Interfaces and be proactive in issues resolution in that regard. You will have full autonomy on activities of the power installations, particularly ensuring high safety standards are adhered to by ensuring compliance with rules and regulations whilst implementing systems of planning, reporting progress and inspection to ensure projects are implemented and completed to time, cost and quality. You will review of the power installation drawings and installation/test procedures, drive the Contractor’s delivery and completion for the power discipline to hit the Installation and testing milestones, verify compliance of the contractors to design, to the contractual requirements and to internationally and locally recognized standards. You will perform site surveys to ensure quality/completeness of installations and testing, enforce a safety culture and ensure the contractor is working to the safety standards. You will manage the snag lists and test incidents and drive their closure. You will assist the RE in day-to-day planning, supervision, reporting and delivery of the power discipline. You will also ensure that testing and commissioning is carried out and recorded in accordance with correct and up to date test procedures, test specifications, software configuration and data whilst reviewing site change process and managing closure of snags, test logs. You will maintain a system of surveillances to monitor and demonstrate compliance with current requirements in respect of system and occupational safety and performance, thereby furthering the company’s aim to meet the quality system requirements, ensuring that resources delivering power installation and construction activities comply with relevant method statement, specifications and standards. Here’s What You’ll Need:
As an effective candidate you will have an Engineering Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering with experience in railway power 11kV networks their installation and testing activities. You MUST have experience in MV cable laying, jointing and testing experience in 11KV components installation and testing (CBs, Switchgears, transformers, etc.), SCADA and power management Systems, experience in UAE power Authorities Standards and approval process. Experience in PMC or as Engineer Position, reviewing design modifications / enhancements on Operational Railways in the Middle East with Cisco Certified Network Associate / MCSE are desirable.
