Postdoctoral Fellow
Job Description
A full-time Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the research project titled "Mathematical Modeling and Analysis of Tumor Therapy Using Oncolytic Viruses." The main objective of this project is to develop and analyze mathematical models that describe the spatial dynamics of virus infection within tissues and its impact on both cancerous and healthy cells. The study will explore how viral infection levels relate to spatial patterning and tissue heterogeneity. Oncolytic viruses selectively target and destroy cancer cells while simultaneously stimulating the immune system to attack virus-infected cells. The project will also investigate viral spatial oscillation patterns in cancer tissues following a Hopf bifurcation. By employing spatially explicit reaction-diffusion models and bifurcation analysis, we aim to uncover the spatiotemporal patterns underlying virus infection and tumor response.
Minimum Qualification
PhD degree in Applied Mathematics
Preferred Qualification
PhD in Mathematical Biology
Expected Skills
The candidate is expected to have a solid background in mathematical biology especially cancer and qualitative and quantitate analysis of differential equations, delay differential, and stochastic differential. Also capable of developing corresponding programing in Python/Matlab. Proficiency in English (written and oral) is required.
