Job Description
The Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering and the National Water & Energy Center at the United Arab Emirates University seek postdoctoral candidates to work on applied electrochemistry research and development projects. The project aims to synthesize, structure-property correlations and electrochemistry measurements of functional metal oxides and chalcogenides related to rechargeable batteries, supercapacitors, and solar cell applications. The position is responsible for synthesizing materials, characterization, and fabrication of coin cells/three-electrode supercapacitor cells and performing electrochemistry measurements. Knowledge on fabrication of photo supercapacitors and performance evaluation is plus. The applicatnt must be fluent in English, writing scientific reports and journal articles. The applicant will work in the laboratory environment with synthetic and analytical chemistry equipment as well as data collection, analysis, interpretation, documentation, report of the results of the experiments obtained, and patent filing

Minimum Qualification
- The successful candidate must hold an internationally recognized Ph.D. either in physics/chemistry, materials science, Chemical/Mechanical Engineering. or equivalent.
- Must have knowledge and understanding of battery performances and how it varies with different operating conditions.
- Should have knowledge and background in electrochemistry and battery/cell development.
- The candidate should have a proven track record of excellence in experimental research.
- Candidates with high experience in energy storage applications and electrochemistry measurements are needed. (Photo supercapacitors/batteries), fabrication, characterization, and materials synthesis are highly encouraged to apply.
