Position Overview
KU is seeking a highly motivated Post-doctoral Fellow to work on Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) modeling and experimental objectives. The candidate will develop CFD models and Homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) engine design and gas turbine engine for utilizing decarbonized and sustainable fuels like Hydrogen, Ammonia, and solar fuels. Also, the candidate must be capable to perform experimental study on our gasoline and diesel test beds and the high pressure combustion facility. The core part of the position is to work with Ph.D. and MSc. students and a researcher having core industrial and modeling expertise. As part of the project, the researcher will have access to state-of-the-art research equipment and facilities at Khalifa University core labs and the United Arab Emirates University internal combustion engine lab, and will get an opportunity to work alongside researchers and graduate students from various backgrounds as part of a wider team.

Position Requirements
- In-depth knowledge and adequate experience in Internal combustion engines.
- Technical experience in developing thermodynamics system modeling on Matlab or Equivalent software.
- Experience in developing internal combustion engine models on CFD software.
- Able to work on interdisciplinary research.
- Having demonstrated autonomy and teamwork skills.
- Excellent technical written English and oral communication skills.
- Adhere to the University\'s information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager
Candidate Profile
Essential Criteria
- Ph.D. from a reputable university in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience writing scientific or review papers.
- A willingness to contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture.
- Excellent English language communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- The proven ability to work on multiple tasks with competing demands and deadlines.
- Ability to train and mentor students and support fellow researchers.
- Highly developed reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Ph.D. gained from a top 200 QS or THE ranked University
- At least one year of relevant experience as a Post-doctoral researcher in academia or in industry.
- High-impact first-author publications in the top 10% journals in the relevant field.
