Description

The objective of the Postdoctoral Fellow is to provide high-quality research support and participate in international competitions that aim to publish. He or she will also carry out independent studies to meet the objectives of the laboratory research program.

There are various programs that are focused on the development of new therapeutic strategies for cancer. These include the use of genome-wide computational tools, such as the CRISPR-Cas9, to identify potential targets of neurodegenerative diseases therapy.

The applicant must hold a PhD degree from a reputable university with the needed responsibilities:

• Project management: ability to contribute to research conception, design, and execution to address defined problems and the objectives of the project. Collect and analyze data and assist in evaluation and identifying areas of improvement.
• Documentation: Prepare manuscripts and contribute to the writing of research papers, grants and presentations for conferences or workshops. Maintain records and files and databases related to the project.
• Computer and statistical knowledge: familiar with software for data preparation and analysis such GraphPad Prism or SPSS.
• Administrative commissions: assist in laboratory procedures for the different research phases. Manage lab logistics and protocols, including budget monitoring, procurement of equipment and supplies, and compliance with institutional and ethical guidelines. Manage laboratory inventories.
• Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective collaboration and communication among the team members.

Mentorship duties: Provide guidance and research mentoring/training to junior researchers for them to quire necessary skills and knowledge to contribute to the project.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

• PhD in biochemistry, neurobiology, or related discipline from a reputable university.
• Have direct expertise in molecular biology techniques such as cell culture and live animal model techniques including CRISPR-cas9 transfection. Microscopy and cell biology expertise is a plus.
• Ability to conduct high quality research, develop and publish peer-reviewed scientific papers.
• A willingness to contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture.
• Have excellent English language communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• The proven ability to work on multiple tasks with competing demands and deadlines.
• Ability to train and mentor students and support fellow researchers.
• Highly developed reasoning and problem-solving skills.

Desired Criteria

• PhD gained from a top 200 QS or THE ranked University.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience as a postdoctoral researcher in academia or in industry.
• High impact first-author publications in top 10% or Q1 journals in the relevant field.
