Position Overview

KU is seeking a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Fellow to work on

• To provide high quality research support and prototype development in areas related to Supply chain optimization, logistics, operations research applications in e-Commerce, Blockchain, IoT, and reverse logistics.
• To present research plans and findings in a convincing style, both in oral and written modes of communication; to understand research group management and supervision of others; to establish contacts and network with colleagues pursuing a similar research agenda; and to organize and teach a class or a course if more inclined towards a teaching career.

As part of the project, the researcher will have access to state-of-the-art research equipment and facilities at the Research Center for Digital Supply Chain and Operations Management and will get an opportunity to work alongside researchers and graduate students from various backgrounds as part of a wider team.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

• \xc2\xb7Help research center affiliated faculty in preparing for patent filing, preparing presentations, and developing grant proposals from Industry.
• \xc2\xb7The PD will be involved in research center activities, conference/workshop organization, arrange for meetings, compiling, organizing, summarizing and/or presenting requested information; and conducting any other explorations, investigations, and studies relevant to furthering the research project or center activities. The PD will report the progress to the supervisor and project team periodically; extend assistance to perform extensive literature search, document research reports and results for dissemination including journal and conference publications, patent applications.
• The PD will assist faculty in supervising and mentorship of MSc and PhD students working on center related projects and activities.
• Adhere to the University\'s information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager

Candidate Profile

Essential Criteria

• PhD from a reputable university in Industrial, Mechanical, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Experience writing scientific or review papers;
• A willingness to contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture
• Excellent English language communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• The proven ability to work on multiple tasks with competing demands and deadlines.
• Ability to train and mentor students and support fellow researchers
• Highly developed reasoning and problem-solving skills

Desired Criteria

• PhD gained from a top 200 QS or THE ranked University
• High impact first-author publications in top 10% journals in the relevant field
