Job Purpose

Planning, managing, and ensuring a portfolio is delivered on time and within budget. The Portfolio will contain a specific collection of projects and programs in which the bank has chosen to invest in that is aligned to the strategy. The Portfolio Manager (Head) collaborates with all functions of the office (Talent & Change, Value & Reporting, Integration & Governance) to ensure that its portfolio has what it needs for execution.

Key Accountabilities

Responsible for planning a portfolio.

Engages with Business/Technology/Enablement & Control teams outside the office to understand portfolio\'s strategic objectives

Ensure portfolio projects are aligned to bank\'s strategy and provide quantifiable business value

Engages with Business/Technology/Enablement & Control teams outside the office to initiate annual demand process

Participates in demand prioritization with Value & Reporting team for the portfolio and provides support in consolidating all requirements

Reviews financials of portfolio with 360 Value team

Defines a master resource plan to understand what skills and number of people are required to run the portfolio of projects successfully and reviews it with Talent & Change Workforce AVP

Responsible for managing and ensuring a portfolio is delivered.

Works with Integration & Governance team to develop a master plan for the portfolio of projects

Identifies interdependencies and engages with Business/Technology/Enablement & Control teams outside the office to ensure alignment and action on dependencies swiftly

Educates and provides support to Business/Technology/Enablement &Control teams outside the office on PMO processes and templates

Proactively engages with Talent & Change team to ensure staffing is available for current and future projects and to measure and track team\'s productivity

Upon a project closure within a portfolio, ensures project is transitioned to Value & Reporting team for value tracking and realization

Prepares Portfolio-level status reports and participates/presents in portfolio-level governance forums

Provides relevant data requests / updates to Integration& Governance AVPs/VPs as required on an ad hoc basis

Work closely with program managers to resolve issues and handle escalations

Proposes best practices on how to ensure efficient management principles, processes, tools, and templates and continuously maintained

Qualifications

Experience and Qualification

University Degree in Technology, Management or equivalent

MBA or equivalent master\'s degree is preferred.

Experience of working with Banking IT or PMO

Total experience of 10-12 years

Minimum 4 years of experience in managing portfolios, project governance and delivery

Experience in managing a team size of 5-10 people

PM Certification is a plus

Skills

Expertise in portfolio management and portfolio planning

Experience in handling multiple programs with interdependencies and an ability to proactively resolve issues

Experience in managing various project management delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)

Experience of working with a cross-functional team

Good stakeholder management capability and working with senior management

Excellent presentation and communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications; PowerPoint, Excel, etc

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and deliver within tight deadlines

Willing to learn, collaborate, go the extra-mile, and demonstrate a high level of integrity with the ability to handle highly confidential information appropriately

Supervises, coaches, and develops junior team members
