Pool Technician
Job Title: Pool Technician

Reports To: Maintenance Manager / Facilities Supervisor
Job Overview:
The Pool Technician is responsible for the daily maintenance, chemical balancing, and operational integrity of swimming pools, jacuzzis, and related water features. This role ensures a safe, clean, and chemically balanced aquatic environment for guests and residents.
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily testing of pool water chemistry (pH, chlorine, alkalinity) and adjust chemical levels as needed.
• Operate and maintain pool filtration systems, pumps, and heaters.
• Vacuum the pool, skim the surface for debris, and clean pool tiles and walls.
• Empty and clean skimmer and pump baskets.
• Backwash filters as required and maintain a log of filter pressure and cleaning schedules.
• Inspect pool equipment for proper operation and report any malfunctions or necessary repairs.
• Ensure the pool area is clean, safe, and well-maintained, including deck furniture and safety equipment.
• Maintain accurate logs of chemical readings, maintenance activities, and equipment inspections.
• Ensure compliance with all local health department regulations and safety standards.
• Winterize pools during the off-season and prepare them for opening.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Proven experience (1+ years) as a Pool Technician or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of water chemistry, pool filtration systems, and pool maintenance techniques.
• Understanding of the safety procedures and hazards associated with pool chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to perform physical labor and work in an outdoor environment.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Detail-oriented and responsible.
