HEROS WANTED.... we are looking an outstanding person who will be excited by the opportunity and responsibility of ensuring Trojan Sports first swimming venue runs to the highest possible safety standards, but at the same time ensuring that all users of the pool are treated with an incredible level of hospitality and service not experienced anywhere else in the region.
Trojan Sports is a newly established swimming programme that currently has one 50m pool but will be undergoing heavy expansion in the coming years. Our ethos is 'quality first' and to ensure this is implemented, we are focused on finding the very best lifeguards in the region. As a result we are looking for people who are:
Accountable, responsible and dependable by nature
Approachable with a sense of humour is essential, but able to be authoritative when needed
Observant and vigilant to pre-empt trouble
Calm under pressure, able to think critically and solve problems independently
Have a willingness to work hard, be resilient in difficult climates but stay positive
Have the ability to communicate effectively within a team
Have the ability to follow direct instructions
Energetic, physically fit with excellent swimming and first aid skills
Dedicated and willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty
If we expect the very best candidates to apply then it is our responsibility to ensure that they have the very best working environment and conditions, and therefore not only will they have one of the highest compensation packages, they will also receive extended holidays, higher allowances and a lower number of weekly working hours.
Within the team of 5 there will be a period of adaptation to the job where by you will all be assessed, after which one lifeguard will be selected to be the team leader, however it is expected that all lifeguards regardless of position will perform all of the expected duties throughout the course of working as a Trojan. The major areas for the job will be:
Safe operations -
Ensuring the direct health and safety of all swimming pool users by following all policies and procedures, water testing, checking equipment as well as cleaning duties throughout the whole venue.
Support -
Ensuring, when safe to do so, all Trojan programmes have all support needed to fully function, including set up of the pool, admin and set down.
Customer service

All customers, be they other clubs or Trojan own members will be welcomed and experience the very highest levels of customer service.
Training
-
All lifeguards will be expected to maintain or improve their capabilities through inhouse training as well as on their own initiative.
The chosen candidates, of course will have a valid EAC approved lifeguarding qualification, but will also hold a UAE Driving license and have excellent reading and writing skills in English with computer skills an advantage.
