Job Description

Primary Responsibilities



Monitoring Swimmers

Constantly watch pool patrons to prevent accidents or injuries. Identify and respond quickly to signs of distress or unsafe behavior.

Rescue and First Aid

Perform water rescues when needed. Administer CPR, first aid, or use an AED during emergencies.

Enforcing Pool Rules

Ensure all swimmers follow safety rules and guidelines. Intervene when unsafe behavior is observed (e.g., running, diving in shallow areas).

Maintaining a Safe Environment

Inspect rescue equipment and pool facilities regularly. Report or fix hazards (e.g., slippery surfaces, broken tiles, cloudy water).

Secondary Responsibilities



Customer Service

Answer questions from pool patrons and provide general assistance. Maintain a calm and approachable presence.

Administrative Tasks

Complete incident and accident reports. Log rescues or first aid treatments accurately.

Pool Maintenance Support

(varies by employer)*
Check chlorine and pH levels. Assist in opening/closing the pool.
