Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a PMC Project Engineer to join our PMC team on ADNOC project. Successful candidate should deliver below responsibilities;

Role Responsibilities

  • Support Project Manager Coordinating and managing multiple projects throughout projects different phases; tendering, award, execution, pre-commissioning and commissioning, close-out and final/closeout reporting.
  • Duties include, supporting construction activities, resolve and coordinate providing technical solutions/support.
  • Lead preparations for commissioning, acceptance and hand over procedures.
  • Prepares progress and other required reports and ensures timely provision of all required project documentation, including close-out and hand-over documentation and certification.
  • Coordinate daily project activities to meet the overall work, asset and/or ADNOC Onshore objectives.
  • Provide regular updates and support on all EPC project issues to Snr. Project Manager / Project Manager.
  • Initiates and chairs project meetings between ADNOC Onshore and contractors.
  • Develop risk control and contingency plans to eliminate or minimize project risks.
  • Reviews and updates projects' execution strategies in light of identified constraints in terms of cost, time and resources available.
  • Analyzes activity and performance to identify areas for improvement. Benchmark activity performance against best practices in the industry.
  • Advises on all matters related to his major projects' activities in assigned asset. Includes application of relevant construction methods, pre-commissioning procedures, terms and conditions of contractors', schedule and reporting packages
  • Leads the preparation and processing of tender requirements EPC projects. Includes input to Scope of Works, evaluating bids and recommending acceptable bidders.
  • Develops and determines overall work performance, terms of reference for contractors, projects standards and working procedures.
  • Knows the company health, safety and environmental policy, procedures, regulations and objectives as they relate to his area of responsibility, and ensures that they are effectively implemented in his domain.
  • Invite and leads Project team, attend audit/health check meetings, challenge findings and agree the mitigation actions with timing and follow-up for timely close-out of actions
  • Coordinate and arrange for meetings to resolve conflicts/technical disputes with engineering consultants/engineering team and /or vendors and formalize final position/agreements
  • Lead/facilitate Design Review Meetings, QA Audits/reviews VIP's (Value Engineering, Constructability, Risk Analysis. etc..) workshops and safety review meetings (HAZID, HAZOP, PHSER. etc..) and ensure they are closed out / implemented.
  • Review progress reports by Contractors and provide recommendations and mitigation actions
  • Coordinate with engineering team and involve concerned disciplines trouble shooting technical issues/challenges encountered during construction
  • Arrange and coordinate vendor support and site visits for trouble shooting, pre-commissioning and commissioning
  • Review claims and distribute duties and responsibilities to concerned disciplines/PMT members and consolidate company position for presentation to PM/SPM and senior management
  • Coordinate pre-commissioning /commissioning systems with Commissioning / Operations teams and arrange for planning activities and aligning all stakeholders with their obligations and duties
  • Coordinate preparations for PAC, involving all necessary parties (company /vendor) and provide the necessary reporting
  • Follow-up and coordinate project close-out as per company procedures
  • Develop Project close-out report and obtain the necessary signatures and distribution.
Skills / Qualifications
  • B.Sc. Degree in an Engineering Discipline
  • 12 years' experience in relevant engineering/construction including 6 years in managing oil & gas projects
