Job Description

Wood is recruiting for a Program Manager to join our team on a long-term project based in UAE. The position will start in Jan 2023 and is likely to go on until Dec 2025. We are looking for candidates with strong experience in program management to lead PMC teams for the successful delivery of various projects.

Responsibilities

+ Create delivery excellence across assigned project/program/portfolio of projects, provide certainty and confidence to the customer/project sponsor, and robust control of project scope, schedule, cost, and risk.

+ Specifies and directs the implementation and completion of one or more major projects or programs, including responsibility for managing safety, scope, cost, schedule, and risk, and ensuring appropriate reporting and governance is in place.

+ Contributes to and reviews the project proposal and plan to establish timeframe, procedures for accomplishing the project, resource requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.

+ Ensures adherence to ADNOC policy and best practice and sets project evaluation parameters.

+ Negotiate and challenge changes to project scope with the Contractors and Follows Change Management process to identify and approve modifications to scope, cost, schedule and quality.

+ Approves project procedures and project execution plan including the scope of work, deliverables list, master schedule, budget, org charts, risk register etc.

+ Ensures competence of project team members to carry out assigned work

+ Involved in establishing terms and conditions, and wider scope and larger size of projects may require more visibility in the community as well as activity in attracting project staff

+ Responsible for the project HSSE leadership, ensures a program of initiatives and auditing schedule are established, and that HSSE and quality management issues are proactively addressed.

+ Drives good practices, including corporate initiatives, across projects and programs

+ Resolves complex issues which are escalated by project team

+ Participate in assurance activities and peer reviews

+ Guides and directs large project team(s), which includes project managers, external specialists and

+ involving staff from multiple offices and sites.

+ Is an advocate and role model for ethical behaviour and compliance with applicable laws and policies.

+ Teaches and empowers others to make decisions within established parameters

+ Interface with client assigned personnel and the EPC Contractors for formal and informal reviews on technical and non-commercial matters with respect to project delivery

+ Monitor the effectiveness and levels of EPC Contractor, Subcontractor and Supplier engagement and delivery. Advise ADNOC management soonest where inadequacies in EPC delivery are occurring

+ Participate in key client and EPC Contractor reviews, awareness training and meetings as required.

+ Strong team builder capable of identifying and adopting best practices, engendering a spirit of cooperation and energising people towards optimum performance enabling cross functional best practice

+ Participate in monthly progress reviews with client

+ Monitor, appraise and report to client on quality and safety aspects of delivery performed by the EPC Contractor and their Subcontractors / Suppliers

+ Provide HSSE leadership and awareness by ensuring that all Wood and client requirements are implemented and followed including safe delivery of the work

+ Ensure HSSE system compliance and conduct periodic reviews

+ Ensure quality assurance system compliance and conduct periodic reviews

+ Prepare monthly client and Wood project progress reports and presentations

+ Bachelor's Degree in engineering preferably with advanced degree in business administration or project / program management

+ Extensive Experience in oil and gas upstream industry, Typically more than twenty years of broad and extensive pertinent experience, including minimum ten years of outstanding project management experience

+ Must have been in consultant's organization for at least five years in similar position

+ Middle east experience for renowned clients is a must

+ Experience in Major / complex international or remote location projects

+ Functional management, leadership, teambuilding skills, process coordination and communication skills is a must

+ Strong HSSE awareness and commitment

+ Expert Practitioner in Risk Management processes, well versed in how risks are transposed into cost, time and contingency estimates and forecasts

+ Safety focused with an uncompromising approach to risk management. Places the welfare of both internal and customer employees at the top of the agenda
