Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations. Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe. May cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings, using hand tools and power tools. May assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass and lead, and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay and plastic, using hand and power tools. May repair and maintain plumbing, by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains.May provide data to Automated Information Systems (AIS). Other duties as assigned. Foreman - Possesses all of the journey level skills, having verifiable minimum experience and/or holds an accepted certification, license and/or degree in a specific craft. Usually considered the most experienced, highest skilled professional in their respective field. May provide supervision fo a specific craft crew. Requires little or no supervision.
Basic Job Requirements
High school diploma / GED equivalent preferred. Six (6) years to nine (9) years related experience.
Other Job Requirements
Requires the technical skills, job knowledge and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions. To ensure compliance with safety, health and security requirements in the contract, employee will possess the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the intermediate level as necessary to perform assigned job functions.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have a Secret Security Clearance
Inspect and repair water tanks, water lines, and septic lines; plumbing, plumbing fixtures, and piping; and ancillary equipment supporting Water Systems on AASAB, Cargo City, and JSSD-K, including two (2) 500K gallon water tanks supplying water to AASAB and the Ultra-Violet Sanitation Systems at the DFAC.
Must have a Water Operator certification or equivalent, or work under direct supervision of a certified technician.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior military and/or contingency experience.
