The Plumbing Design Engineer will be responsible for the complete design, coordination, and delivery of plumbing systems for building projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, client requirements, and GCC authority standards.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare plumbing designs for building projects including water supply, drainage, stormwater, soil & waste, and special plumbing systems. Develop concept, schematic, detailed design, tender, and IFC drawings in line with project requirements. Perform hydraulic calculations for water supply, drainage, and stormwater systems. Design hot and cold water systems, booster systems, water tanks, pumps, and fixtures. Prepare layouts, riser diagrams, schematics, and equipment schedules. Ensure compliance with relevant international codes and local authority regulations (IPC, UPC, BS, ASHRAE, and GCC authority requirements). Coordinate with Architectural, Structural, Electrical, HVAC, and BIM teams to ensure clash-free and coordinated designs. Review shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements. Respond to RFIs, design queries, and support construction-stage engineering. Participate in authority submissions and address comments from local authorities. Support value engineering and design optimization without compromising system performance. Ensure timely delivery of design outputs in accordance with consultancy quality procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline. Minimum 8+ years of plumbing design experience for building projects. Proven working experience on GCC projects within engineering consultancies. Strong knowledge of building plumbing systems and design standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit MEP knowledge is an advantage. Sound understanding of local authority requirements and approval processes. Good coordination, communication, and technical problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple design packages. Immediate availability preferred.
