Job Description

The Plumber is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes and safety standards. This includes work on water supply, drainage, irrigation, and heating systems across the facility or property.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial and/or residential structures. Inspect plumbing systems and identify issues using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on plumbing systems and equipment. Respond promptly to plumbing emergencies, such as leaks, clogs, or burst pipes. Ensure all plumbing work complies with local and national building codes and safety regulations. Collaborate with other maintenance staff and contractors to coordinate plumbing work with other maintenance and repair activities. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time, materials used, and issues encountered. Advise on plumbing system upgrades or replacements when necessary. Keep tools and work areas clean and organized.

Qualifications & Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; trade or technical school certification in plumbing is preferred. Valid plumbing license or certification (as required by local regulations). Proven experience as a plumber in a commercial, industrial, or residential setting. Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Good physical condition and manual dexterity. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights or weekends if required.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in various environments. May require lifting heavy equipment and materials. Use of protective gear and adherence to safety standards is mandatory.
