Summary:
A Plumber is a skilled professional who installs, maintains, and repairs piping systems that carry water, gas, and waste. Their work is essential for providing clean water for drinking, bathing, and cooking, and for the safe removal of wastewater from buildings. They also work on systems for heating, sanitation, and industrial processes.
Key Responsibilities:

• Installation: Install pipes, fixtures (sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters), and appliances (dishwashers, washing machines) according to building codes and blueprints.
• Maintenance: Inspect plumbing systems for leaks, corrosion, and other issues. Perform routine maintenance on water heaters, pumps, and other equipment.
• Repair: Fix common problems like clogged drains and toilets, leaking pipes and faucets, low water pressure, and malfunctioning water heaters.
• Troubleshooting: Locate the source of plumbing issues, which may involve using tools like drain augers (snakes), hydro-jetters, and video inspection cameras for sewer lines.
• Code Compliance: Ensure all installations and repairs meet local plumbing codes and standards to guarantee safety and proper sanitation.
• Gas Fitting: Some plumbers are certified to install and repair gas lines for stoves, furnaces, and fireplaces.
• Emergency Service: Respond to urgent situations like burst pipes, severe clogs, or gas leaks, which can cause significant property damage or health hazards.

Work Environment:
Plumbers work in both new construction sites and existing buildings. The job is physically demanding and often involves working in tight, uncomfortable spaces under sinks or in basements. They are exposed to dirt, water, and sewage, and must follow strict safety procedures to avoid injury and exposure to harmful materials.
