Job Purpose:
The Coral Research & Development Accelerator Platform (CORDAP) is an R&D funding platform to support, complement, and scale up existing and new initiatives working on coral and reef conservation. As the Platform Solutions Architect, you will develop, source and implement IT solutions addressing the Platform business needs and monitor their performance. The position will lead eff communications orts to provide the IT vision and strategy to develop scalable processes and solutions, streamline operations and, and maintain systems in a complex environment enhancing the Foundation’s operations.

Responsibilities:
- Act as the Platform’s go to person for information and communications technologies.
- Ensure that proposed and existing IT solutions are optimal for the Platform’s goals and objectives, internal and external communications and data management systems.
- Working with stakeholders, conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts, and recommend technologies for future adoption.
- Working with the system vendor and the funding management team, design, develop, implement and maintain a highly user-friendly grants application and proposal management system and related needs (e.g., user surveys) tailored for the requirements and needs of the Platform.
- Resolving technical problems as they arise.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Analyze business processes and functionality, create test strategies and test applications to troubleshoot potential issues and develop feasible solution strategies.
- Continuously look for ways to improve the applications stability, scalability and user experience.
- Consolidate and help standardize data integration efforts across multiple data sources and destinations.
- Build, maintain, and support rich and interactive graphical representations of data (reports, dashboards, and/or user interfaces).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Person Requirements: Competencies
- Proven experience in engineering and software system design with a good balance of hardware, architecture and software expertise.
- Ability to work in a results-oriented, rapidly changing, dynamic and fast-paced environment and the ability to learn and adapt to new technology quickly.
- Demonstrate advanced critical thinking and trouble-shooting capabilities to assess, prioritize, plan, and implement tasks and solutions effectively, including the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
- Hands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysis, innovation, implementation of cutting- edge technologies, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.
- Able to rapidly grasp and learn technical/business subjects and be able to explain them to others.
- Ability to work with diverse populations, and foster a cooperative work environment.
- Knowledge of grants management systems, project management principles and practices desirable.
- Previous project management experience is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare written and to give oral reports/presentations in English.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed; and
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or similar qualifications.
Experience:
- At least 7 years working in a relevant environment.
- Proven experience of enterprise IT application experience, designing, leading, and implementing technology projects.
- Demonstrated experience leading or developing high quality, enterprise scale software products using a structured system development lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with web development, web security concerns and best practices.
- Strong technical background with experience in operating systems, databases, networks and coding languages.
- Sound knowledge of, and experience with, various operating systems, databases and networks.
- Understanding of Virtual Server environments.
- Experience in Grants Management Systems and/or a research funding agency desirable.
