The Plant Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining plant systems and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations. This includes controlling machinery, troubleshooting issues, performing routine inspections, and adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor plant equipment and systems according to established procedures and safety standards.
Conduct regular inspections and report abnormal conditions or equipment malfunctions.
Record and maintain accurate logs of operational data, including temperature, pressure, and flow rates.
Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams for repairs or technical support.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Respond promptly to alarms and emergencies, taking appropriate corrective actions.
Assist in shutdowns, start-ups, and other operational procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the plant area.
Participate in training and development programs to maintain technical proficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial systems is preferred.
Prior experience in a manufacturing or processing plant is an advantage.
Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, gauges, and instrumentation.
Physically fit and capable of working in demanding environments.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or on-call as needed.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to noisy, hot, or hazardous environments depending on the plant type.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
May involve standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
