BASIC PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
AS A PART OF THIS CHALLENGING ROLE YOU WILL SPECIFICALLY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: Operations:

SPECIAL CONDITIONS: The position holder will be required to:
- Operation and maintenance of 250MW Thermal Power Plant, in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu, India.
- Power Plant Operation, Maintenance, HSSE, Human Relations, Industrial Relations, Procurement, Lignite transportation and Government/Stakeholder relations are the main areas of responsibility.
- Ensure requirements of assigned responsibility areas are carried out in a manner that meets expectations and realises strategic objectives of the organization.
AS A PART OF THIS CHALLENGING ROLE YOU WILL SPECIFICALLY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: Operations:
- Plant operations, by adhering to TAQA\xe2\x80\x99s high operating standards, regulatory guidelines and requirements.
- Guide and oversee operations of the plant, through interaction with functional managers.
- Implement prudent operation practices to ensure optimum performance of the Plant to achieve targeted results.
- Ensure all operational and maintenance statistics, data, reports and records are maintained as per TAQA\xe2\x80\x99s and regulatory requirements and reported promptly.
- Achieve power generation targets in line with TAQA\xe2\x80\x99s strategies and Off taker\xe2\x80\x99s requirement.
- Co-ordination with offtaker to manage power despatch demand and generation.
- Establish and implement Reliability and Availability Centred Maintenance Policy.
- Continuous functioning of power plant equipment.
- Plan and oversee implementation of adequate programs for maintenance of power plant equipment, including plant outage programs.
- Develop and manage implementation of changes to realize continuous improvement in performance.
- Develop and implement appropriate preventive and planned maintenance programme for Plant and Equipment.
- Co-ordinate Root Cause Analysis for incidents/breakdown/outages with corrective action proposals and implementation of lessons learned.
- Support management of maintenance subcontracts and allied compliances.
- Manage projects such as Plant equipment upgrade and process improvement.
- Oversee Company\xe2\x80\x99s Procurement Plans; timely, cost effective and quality procurement of Spares, Consumables and other requirements.
- Ensure high ethical standards and business conduct are in place and complied with
- Establish and maintain TAQA\xe2\x80\x99s high standards of Health, Safety and Environmental.
- Ensure HSSE targets and objectives are achieved, improvement measures are affected and regulatory requirements are complied.
- Develop annual and long term operating plan in line with TAQA\xe2\x80\x99s strategies and offtaker\xe2\x80\x99s requirement.
- Responsible for Plant Budgets, including Operations and Maintenance budget, Major Maintenance and CAPEX programs and Plant Administration budgets.
- Planning and budgeting Spares requirement for maintenance of Plant equipment.
- Develop and administer Strategic Objectives and Plans for continuous optimization and effective utilization of resources.
- Risk identification, assessment and implementation of effective mitigation measures.
- Lead Plant team effectively to reach set objectives and targets, including recruitment, talent management, administering employee development and engagement programs.
- Develop and set Scorecards and Key Results, ensure timely assessment and feedback.
- Establish and implement Succession Plan for key positions.
- Ensure compliance of TAQA values, policies, procedures and objectives in all areas.
- Administration of staff and functions.
- Manages Plant Residential Housing Colony, its regulations and compliances.
- Administering Company\xe2\x80\x99s Corporate Social Responsibility programs.
- Overseeing audits, certification, risk assessment and internal control programs and ensure execution of action plans.
- Maintain good public relations with local leaders, village administrators, government departments and with all stakeholders.
- Statutory Compliances:
- Comply regulatory requirements, including Environment, Factories Act and Labour law requirements.
- Ensure conformance with statutory requirements in respect of safety certificates for boilers, cranes, hoists and other equipment.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS: Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Certification on HSE Management Systems (Preferred)
- Degree or certification on Business Management and Administration (Preferred)
- Full member of recognised professional association e.g., Ghana Institute of Engineers
- 20 \xe2\x80\x93 25 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in operation and maintenance thermal power plants with a capacity of more than 100MW
- Should possess experience in handling Operations and Mechanical, Electrical and C&I functions.
- Should possess knowledge in Plant Operation process
- Minimum 5 years in senior leadership position
- On site experience in Power Plant construction, Operation and Maintenance is preferred.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS: The position holder will be required to:
- Relocate to Neyveli, Tamil Nadu
- Be on 24-hour call throughout the year
- Should be willing to travel country wide and overseas
