Position Overview
AECOM Middle East is seeking a skilled and analytical Planning Engineer to join its Transportation team for major Roads, Infrastructure, and Bridge projects in Dubai. The role involves developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules, analyzing performance metrics, and supporting project managers in achieving on-time, cost-effective delivery in line with client and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare and update project baselines, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and approved budgets.
  • Perform cost and schedule variance analyses, earned value assessments, and forecasting.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure schedule accuracy and resource optimization.
  • Support project controls functions through the use of Primavera P6, Excel dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Identify and analyze project risks, delays, and deviations using Time Impact Analysis techniques.
  • Track material deliveries, subcontractor performance, and cost commitments to ensure adherence to financial plans.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for internal management and client presentations.
  • Assist in claims preparation and contract change management, providing data-driven justification.
  • Participate in cost review and performance evaluation meetings to support timely decision-making.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project planning or project controls, with at least 5 years in large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 and MS Office tools.
  • Excellent understanding of WBS, EVMS, project trend analysis, and delay analysis methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience in major UAE infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
