Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled 3 to 6 years experience and detail-oriented Planning Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining project schedules, ensuring timely completion of construction and infrastructure projects. This role requires a strong background in civil, mechanical, or related engineering disciplines, with proficiency in project management tools and construction management software. The Planning Engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize project workflows, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with technical standards and safety regulations.

Duties

Develop comprehensive project schedules using advanced planning tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to establish realistic timelines and milestones. Utilize software such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and GIS applications to prepare schematics, drawings, and system designs. Conduct construction management activities including scheduling inspections and overseeing construction phases to ensure adherence to plans. Perform construction estimating and resource planning to optimize project efficiency. Manage project documentation through technical writing and drafting for reports, proposals, and progress updates. Monitor project progress using GIS, HEC models, SWMM, Hydraulics software, and other technical tools; update schedules accordingly. Assist in land surveying, geotechnical engineering assessments, water treatment system design, wastewater treatment planning, and pipeline layout coordination. Support project engineering efforts by integrating system design principles across civil and mechanical disciplines. Ensure compliance with safety standards and conduct construction inspection activities as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus. Proven experience in project scheduling and construction management within infrastructure or civil projects. Proficiency with planning software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project; familiarity with Bluebeam is preferred. Strong knowledge of CAD tools including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation; experience with GIS platforms like ArcGIS is desirable. Experience with construction estimating software and technical modeling tools such as Mathcad or HEC models. Familiarity with water treatment systems, wastewater treatment processes, hydraulics, geotechnical engineering principles, land surveying techniques, and system design methodologies. Ability to interpret schematics and construction drawings; experience with drafting is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for technical writing and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
