Planning Engineer (marine)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer with strong exposure to marine and coastal engineering projects to support a major marine works development project in Sharjah. The role involves detailed planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and coordination with site and technical teams to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent planning software.
  • Prepare baseline programs, recovery schedules, and look-ahead plans for marine works activities.
  • Integrate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities into a single coordinated plan.
  • Plan and monitor marine construction activities, including: Dredging and reclamation works, Breakwaters and revetments, Berths, quay walls, jetties, and marine piling works.
  • Coordinate planning inputs with marine engineering, site, and subcontractor teams.
  • Track actual progress against baseline schedules and identify delays or risks.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, S-curves, and dashboards.
  • Conduct schedule impact and delay analysis and support Extension of Time (EOT) submissions when required.
  • Assist in manpower, equipment, and material planning aligned with project timelines.
  • Coordinate with commercial and project control teams to support cost control and cash flow forecasting.
  • Liaise with project managers, site engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Participate in progress meetings and provide planning updates and recommendations.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-12+ years of experience as a Planning Engineer, with strong exposure to marine or coastal projects.
  • Proven experience on marine works such as ports, harbors, breakwaters, dredging, or coastal protection projects.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing and marine methodologies.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors is preferred.
  • UAE or GCC project experience is an advantage.
