Job Description

The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules for interior fit-out projects. The role ensures timely project delivery by coordinating with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers while controlling progress, resources, and costs.

Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning & Scheduling

Prepare detailed project schedules using

Primavera P6 / MS Project

for interior fit-out works. Develop

baseline programs

, work breakdown structures (WBS), and logic sequencing. Prepare

look-ahead schedules

, weekly and monthly work programs. Identify critical path activities and potential delays.
Project Monitoring & Control

Track project progress and update schedules regularly. Compare planned vs actual progress and prepare

delay analysis

. Monitor productivity, manpower, and material schedules. Support preparation of

recovery plans

and mitigation strategies.
Reporting

Prepare

weekly and monthly progress reports

for management and clients. Generate

S-curves

, histograms, and cash flow forecasts. Assist in preparation of

EOT (Extension of Time) claims

and supporting documents.
Coordination & Communication

Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, QA/QC, procurement, and subcontractors. Attend progress meetings and provide planning updates. Ensure alignment between design, procurement, and construction schedules.
Documentation & Compliance

Maintain planning records, schedules, and project data. Ensure planning activities comply with contractual and company standards. Support tender planning and pre-construction scheduling when required.
Required Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of

interior fit-out construction processes

(finishes, MEP coordination, mock-ups, approvals). Proficiency in

Primavera P6 and/or MS Project

. Good understanding of contracts, claims, and delay analysis. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and reporting abilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in

Civil Engineering / Construction Management

or related field.

3-8 years

of planning experience, preferably in

interior fit-out projects

. Experience with commercial offices, retail, hospitality, or residential fit-outs preferred. Certification in planning software is an advantage.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Accuracy and reliability of project schedules. Timely submission of progress reports. Effective identification and mitigation of delays. Support in achieving on-time project completion.
