The Planning Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful and timely completion of civil and landscape projects while adhering to quality standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Scheduling:
Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive project schedules for civil and landscape projects. Ensure that all project milestones, deliverables, and deadlines are accurately reflected in the schedule.
Resource Allocation:
Coordinate and allocate resources (materials, manpower, and equipment) efficiently to ensure the smooth progression of the project. Monitor the availability and utilization of resources and address any shortages or delays.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting:
Track project progress against the baseline schedule and prepare regular progress reports for project managers and stakeholders. Identify any potential delays or risks and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Coordination with Project Teams:
Collaborate closely with the project management team, engineers, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure the project schedule is adhered to. Facilitate regular meetings to review project status and resolve scheduling issues.
Critical Path Analysis:
Perform critical path analysis to identify key tasks and potential bottlenecks. Ensure that any delays in critical activities are mitigated and managed efficiently to avoid impacting the overall project timeline.
Contractual Milestones & Claims Management:
Ensure that all contractual milestones are met in accordance with the project schedule. Assist in the preparation of claims and variations related to delays or disruptions.
Risk Management:
Identify and assess potential risks to the project schedule and work with the project team to develop mitigation strategies. Proactively manage delays and disruptions to maintain the project timeline.
Document Control:
Ensure that all planning-related documents, schedules, and reports are properly documented and stored in accordance with company procedures. Maintain up-to-date records of project progress and any changes to the plan.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment with the project schedule and resolve any scheduling conflicts or issues.
Key Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in planning and scheduling for civil engineering or landscape projects.
Proven experience in using planning and scheduling software, such as
Primavera P6
,
MS Project
, or other industry-standard tools.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, and resource management for civil and landscape works.
Familiarity with construction methodologies and project workflows specific to civil and landscape projects.
Ability to create and manage detailed project schedules, including setting milestones, timelines, and deadlines.
Knowledge of UAE Standards:
Familiarity with the construction standards and regulations in the UAE or GCC region.
Experience with UAE-based civil or landscape projects will be a significant advantage.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in
Project Management (PMP)
or
Planning & Scheduling (PSP)
is an advantage.
Bilingual (English and Arabic) is a plus.
Knowledge of
cost control

budgeting
