Job Description

The Junior Planning Engineer (Civil) assists in planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling civil construction project activities to ensure timely completion within approved budgets, quality standards, and specifications. The role involves supporting the preparation of baseline programs, progress reports, and coordination with site teams to update actual progress and forecast project performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing project baseline programs using software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project. Update project schedules regularly based on site progress and report deviations or delays. Support the development of resource histograms, manpower curves, and cash flow forecasts. Coordinate with the site team, engineers, and subcontractors to collect progress data and verify actual performance. Participate in preparing weekly and monthly progress reports. Assist in identifying and analyzing critical paths and key milestones in the project. Support in tracking variations, delays, and extension of time (EOT) claims under guidance. Ensure proper documentation and updating of planning records and project files. Help prepare progress S-curves, productivity analysis, and performance reports. Attend internal planning meetings to discuss progress updates and corrective measures. Contribute to maintaining compliance with company policies, safety standards, and contractual requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. 0-3 years of relevant experience in project planning, preferably in construction (Buildings)projects. Basic knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or MS Project. Understanding of construction drawings, BOQ, and work breakdown structure (WBS). Good analytical and time management skills. Strong communication and coordination abilities. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of FIDIC or similar contract terms is an advantage.
