Job Description

The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating the construction program, identifying and managing project risks, and supporting the project team in ensuring timely, cost-effective, and quality-controlled delivery of all construction activities including civil, MEP, and finishing works.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop detailed baseline project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, including all construction and MEP activities. Monitor project progress and prepare weekly/monthly reports, highlighting delays, critical paths, and recovery plans. Liaise with site teams and subcontractors to collect updates and integrate actual progress into the master schedule. Identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions to avoid project delays. Ensure all activities are properly sequenced and logically linked, reflecting site realities and resource constraints. Coordinate look-ahead schedules with the execution teams and identify resource bottlenecks. Assist in cost control, planning resource allocations, and evaluating variations or extensions of time (EOT). Support the technical team with construction method statements, productivity benchmarking, and progress verification. Interface with consultants and clients to review and approve schedules, and update milestone submissions as required. Maintain a comprehensive documentation system for schedule revisions, delay logs, and critical decisions.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling large-scale residential or commercial construction projects including 3 years in Dubai. Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel. Strong understanding of construction sequences, MEP integration, and local authority requirements in Dubai (DM, DCD, etc.). Experience with earned value management (EVM), productivity tracking, and reporting dashboards. Familiar with FIDIC and contract management tools is a plus
