Job Description

We are searching for a well-organized self-starter with great attention to detail to join our team as the new planning engineer. Day-to-day responsibilities include drawing up work schedules and budgets, delegating tasks, analyzing project specifications and finding cost-effective ways to meet them, liaising with contractors and suppliers, managing resources, and communicating with surveyors, managers, and other engineers. You should be able to analyze data, write reports, and deliver presentations to various stakeholders.

To be successful as a planning engineer, you should demonstrate a sound knowledge of the relevant Engineering discipline and be able to anticipate problems. Outstanding planning engineers should have great attention to detail and be able to handle stress well.

Planning Engineer Responsibilities & Duties:

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules Coordinate with project managers and team members to define project scope and objectives Monitor project progress and update schedules accordingly Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies Prepare and present project reports and updates to stakeholders Assist in budgeting and resource allocation decisions Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards Conduct site visits to monitor progress and adherence to schedules Analyze project data to identify trends and improve future project planning Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services Use project management software to track and report project timelines Develop contingency plans to address delays and disruptions

Planning Engineer Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project Experience with risk management and mitigation strategies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Experience in construction or engineering projects Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Knowledge of local and international construction standards Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project planning or management Proficient in project management tools and software Strong understanding of project lifecycle and construction processes Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to analyze complex data and generate insights Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Strong leadership and teamwork capabilities Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to adapt to changing project requirements Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance in construction
