Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to ensure timely execution of construction projects. The role involves coordinating with project teams, analyzing progress, forecasting delays, and implementing corrective measures while ensuring compliance with project specifications and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop baseline project schedules using

Primavera P6

based on project scope, deliverables, and timelines. Define the

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

, activities, milestones, and resource allocation. Prepare detailed construction programs and ensure alignment with contract requirements. Develop baseline project schedules using

MS Project

based on project scope, deliverables, and timelines. Define the

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

, activities, milestones, and resource allocation. Prepare detailed construction programs and ensure alignment with contract requirements. Liaise with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors for project updates. Prepare and submit weekly and monthly progress reports to management and clients. Highlight potential risks and propose mitigation strategies to avoid project delays. Attend progress meetings and present schedule status to stakeholders. Coordinate with the cost control team to align project schedules with budgets. Monitor resource utilization (manpower, equipment, and materials) to ensure efficiency. Support claims preparation for

Extension of Time (EOT)

and cost impacts caused by variations or delays Ensure all planned activities comply with

HSE policies

, quality standards, and client specifications. Support management in implementing project control procedures and best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's Degree

in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Minimum 10

+ years of experience

as a Planning Engineer in

Building Construction.

Proficiency in

Primavera P6

and/or

MS Project

is

mandatory

. Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and project workflows. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Knowledge of

EOT claims

, delay analysis, and project cost controls
