Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Planning Engineer is responsible for preparing, monitoring, and updating project schedules for building construction projects. The role ensures that construction activities are completed within the stipulated timeframe, budget, and quality standards by implementing effective planning, tracking, and reporting systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project. Prepare baseline schedules, manpower histograms, cash flow projections, and resource allocation plans. Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to gather progress information and update schedules accordingly. Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly progress and highlight delays, critical paths, and recovery measures. Conduct delay analysis and prepare extension of time (EOT) claims with supporting documents. Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and clients. Assist in preparing project budgets, forecasts, and resource plans in coordination with the commercial team. Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and project specifications regarding scheduling and reporting. Identify risks and propose mitigation plans to avoid schedule slippage. Support tendering team in preparing project schedules, resource allocation, and methodology for bids.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering . 10 years of relevant experience in building construction projects (Mandatory) Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project is mandatory. Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and resource planning. Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and coordination skills.
