Job Title: Planning Engineer

Experience: 18+ years

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Job Type: Full-time

Candidate must have Engineering consultancy experience within UAE
Candidate must be available in UAE.

Key Responsibilities

Review the contractor's baseline program, methodology, and resource loading for compliance with contract requirements and realistic sequencing. Support the project manager in defining key milestones and critical path items. Monitor and audit the contractor's work schedules, look-ahead programs, and weekly/monthly updates. Identify delays, slippages, and risks early and recommend mitigation actions. Assess the contractor's recovery plans and validate feasibility. Prepare progress reports (daily/weekly/monthly) for the client covering actual vs. planned progress, earned value, manpower, and equipment histograms. Conduct site visits to validate reported progress and quantities. Review and evaluate contractor's claims for time extensions, variations, or disruption in line with UAE construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC conditions). Provide technical recommendations to the resident engineer / project manager for approvals or rejections. Provide dashboards and presentations to the client and internal teams. Coordinate closely with design, cost control, and site supervision teams to align progress with drawings, approvals, and cash flow. Assist in risk assessments and update the risk register from a schedule perspective.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Must have experience in project planning within the construction industry (Middle East experience preferred). Proficient in using planning software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project life cycles, and industry best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
