We are in process of hiring Sr. Planning Engineer - Civil Engineer - Building

Job Summary:

The Senior Planning Engineer - Civil plays a crucial role in managing and controlling the project schedule for building construction projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. The role requires advanced planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring skills to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while meeting quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop, update, and maintain detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project for all project phases.

2. Prepare baseline programs, look-ahead schedules, recovery schedules, and time impact analysis for building construction projects.

3. Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and consultants to collect inputs and align construction activities with the project timeline.

4. Monitor progress against the baseline schedule and prepare periodic progress reports including S-curves, histograms, and performance dashboards.

5. Conduct delay analysis and support the preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims and related documentation.

6. Evaluate subcontractors' schedules and ensure integration into the master program.

7. Attend project meetings and provide planning insights, forecasts, and progress updates to stakeholders.

8. Ensure that the construction schedule accounts for all procurement, permitting, and resource constraints.

9. Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to track cost and schedule performance.

10. Support risk management by identifying schedule risks and proposing mitigation strategies.

11. Guide and mentor junior planning engineers on best practices and tools.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from a recognized institution.

Minimum 7-10 years of planning experience in civil construction, with a strong focus on building projects (residential, commercial, mixed-use, high-rise, etc.).

2. Expert user of Primavera P6 and proficient in MS Project.

Strong knowledge of civil construction processes, materials, methods, and site sequencing.

3. Experience in delay analysis methodologies (e.g., TIA, impacted as planned).

4. Excellent communication and reporting skills (verbal and written).

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.

5. Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and planning standards (AACEI, PMI) is desirable.

6. Certifications such as PMP, PSP, or equivalent are an advantage.
