Job Summary:

The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. The role involves coordinating with different departments, analyzing project progress, and providing timely reports and forecasts to support effective project control.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop detailed project schedules (baseline and updated) using Primavera P6 or MS Project. Monitor project progress against baseline and provide analysis of variances. Prepare and maintain project status reports, dashboards, S-curves, and manpower histograms. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams to gather schedule-related inputs. Identify potential delays or risks and provide mitigation plans. Update and maintain look-ahead schedules (weekly/monthly). Prepare delay analysis and extension of time (EOT) claims when required. Coordinate with cost control and estimation teams to integrate schedules with cost and resource planning. Conduct site visits to monitor actual progress and update the schedule accordingly. Participate in project meetings and present schedule status and forecasts. Ensure compliance with company planning procedures and client requirements.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 3-7 years of experience in planning/scheduling within the construction or engineering sector. Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office Suite (Excel in particular). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good knowledge of project management techniques and delay analysis methodologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with contract terms (FIDIC or equivalent) is a plus. PMP certification or similar is a plus.
