Piping - Engineering

Knowledge of International codes - ASME B31.3 - Process Piping, ASTM A106, ANSI/ASME B16.5, API 520, 570, 602 etc. Piping codes.



Capability to produce technical drawings / documentation pertaining to:
Plant layout engineering. Good knowledge on corrosivity potential, materials' selection for handling corrosive chemicals etc. HSE aspects of Chemical plant layout and GA with Equipment placement. Conversant with Material specifications. Material Handling requirements. Conversant with support standards, pipe routing and pipe stress analysis. Capable of reviewing P&IDs, specifications, Layouts, stress reports, Data sheets, MRs, TBEs, MTOs. Capable to review and comment vendor documentation for valves, specialty piping items etc. Knowledge of selection of components such as valves, fittings, insulation, painting, welding specification, testing requirements for an economical design. Interfacing with Mechanical, Civil, E&I teams predominantly on layout related matters and Materials engineer with selection items. Driving 3D Model reviews and providing reasonable and technically competent comments. Software knowledge tools such as CAESAR II, Pipe-Flo, PDS, or Smart Plant 3D for piping design and analysis.

Soft skills

Good in spoken and written English. Conversant in MS Office tools, 3D review tools, pdf commenting tools. Approach / Attitude - to drive the project forward, problem solving approach.
