Job Profile: Draftsman - Piping

To lead the production of high-quality piping drawings and 3D models for offshore oil & gas facilities (platforms, FPSOs, subsea systems), ensuring accuracy, compliance with international standards, and seamless coordination with engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

Design & Drafting:

Produce detailed piping layouts, isometrics, and fabrication drawings using

PDMS, E3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D

Develop 3D models of offshore piping systems (topsides, jackets, process modules) with clash-free routing Generate

spool drawings, support details, and material take-offs (MTOs)

for construction

Technical Coordination:

Work closely with piping engineers to translate P&IDs into executable 3D models Resolve design clashes through Navisworks reviews with structural/mechanical teams Update drawings to reflect

as-built conditions

during offshore installation

Standards Compliance:

Ensure all deliverables meet

ASME B31.3, API RP 14E, and DNV-OS-F101

hazardous area classification

rules (ATEX/IECEx zones) to drawing packages

Quality Control:

Conduct self-checks of drawings for dimensional accuracy and completeness Maintain revision control of all piping documentation

Offshore Support:

Prepare drawing packages for

fabrication, installation, and hook-up

red-line markups

during site surveys and offshore commissioning

Requirements:

Education & Certification:

Diploma in Mechanical/Piping Drafting or equivalent

Preferred:

PDMS/E3D Administrator certification

Experience:

10+ years specializing in

offshore oil & gas piping drafting

Proven track record on

FPSO, fixed platform, or subsea pipeline projects

Technical Skills:

Essential Software:

PDMS/E3D (3D modeling) AutoCAD Plant 3D Navisworks (clash detection) MicroStation (for brownfield projects)

Advanced Knowledge:

Offshore pipe support standards Isometric drawing conventions Welding symbols and fabrication notes

Industry Knowledge:

Understanding of

offshore construction sequences

and material handling Familiarity with

piping material classes

(CS, DSS, CRA)

Soft Skills:

Ability to work under tight deadlines in fast-paced EPC environments Strong attention to detail for complex offshore systems

Language:

Fluent English (Arabic/Russian beneficial)
