Pipe Fitter
Job Description
Collects necessary tools, equipment and materials to performing the job. In the field, disconnects and connects pipe work in and outside client's plant facilities, such as vessels, columns, heat exchangers, valves and other general pipe work. Assists in setting up oxygen/acetylene cutting equipment. Also uses oxygen/acetylene portable profile and orbital pipe cutting machines as necessary. Assists in fabricating various pipe spools or pipe work, cutting and bending, aligning, connecting, beveling or tack welding as directed by supervisor. Uses a variety of tools such as cutting torch, grinder, hammer, chisel, level, square angle and large spanners. Assists in hydro-testing of assembled pipe work in shop or in field. Sets-up and disconnects test equipment. Performs other tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor. Studies the job and plans for required manpower and tools and tackles. Adheres to the safety rules and procedures of plant facilities. Understands and apply plant safety standards and procedures while performing the job. Ensures awareness on identification of hazard and aspect in the workplace and determining controls Adheres to Company policies, procedures, Government laws, Rules & Regulations and work requirements.
