Key Responsibilities of a Pipe Fitter:1. Installation & Assembly
Install, assemble, and maintain piping systems (PPR, HDPE, GI, Copper, MS, PVC). Fit and align pipes according to specifications, blueprints, and drawings. Cut, thread, weld, and bend pipes as per project requirements.
2. Reading Drawings
Read and understand pipe layout drawings, isometric drawings, and schematics. Follow MEP drawings to install pipelines accurately.
3. System Testing
Perform pressure tests, leak tests, and inspections on piping systems. Identify defects, leakage points, and rectify issues promptly.
4. Maintenance & Repair
Perform routine maintenance on existing piping systems. Replace damaged pipes, fittings, valves, supports, and fixtures. Troubleshoot piping faults and ensure proper functionality.
5. Installation of Equipment
Install valves, pumps, strainers, and other related mechanical equipment. Assist in mechanical room piping installation.
6. Safety & Compliance
Follow UAE safety standards, company policies, and site regulations. Use proper tools, PPE, and techniques for safe pipe installation.
7. Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and other trades. Report progress, delays, or technical issues immediately to the site in charge.
