Fire Fighting Technician / Pipe Fitter
Location: Dubai
Position Overview
The Fire Fighting / Pipe Fitter Technician at Al Wasel Fire Fighting is responsible for installing, testing, and inspecting fire fighting systems--including fire sprinkler networks, fire pumps, and pump rooms--according to Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) regulations and international fire safety standards. The role ensures high-quality workmanship and compliance across all projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fire Fighting System Installation
Install complete fire sprinkler systems (pendent, upright, sidewall, etc.) as per approved drawings.
Install and join fire fighting piping networks (MS, HDPE, GI, Grooved).
Fix fire hose reels, landing valves, breeching inlets, and fire department connections.
Install pipe hangers, brackets, and supports according to standards and load requirements.
2. Pump Room & Fire Pump Installation
Install fire pumps (electric, diesel, jockey) along with all associated piping and fittings.
Ensure proper alignment of suction and discharge headers.
Install control panels, pressure gauges, check valves, flow switches, and related accessories.
Assist in flushing, pressure testing, and performance testing.
Support the commissioning team during system start-up and functional testing.
3. Inspection & Testing
Conduct hydrostatic pressure testing for all fire fighting piping networks.
Perform leak checks and ensure system integrity before handover.
Inspect completed installations for compliance with drawings, NFPA standards, and DCD guidelines.
Report any deviations, material shortages, or non-conformities to the supervisor or engineer.
4. Compliance & Safety
Strictly follow site safety protocols and use appropriate PPE.
Ensure all installations meet NFPA, DCD, or other authority requirements.
Maintain daily work logs, record material usage, and update progress reports.
Skills & Qualifications
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Plumbing, or related field (Preferred).
2-4 years of experience in fire fighting system installation and pump room works.
Ability to read and interpret fire fighting layout drawings and schematics.
Strong knowledge of fire pump types (vertical, end suction, split case) and installation methods.
Familiarity with threading machines, grooved systems (e.g., Victaulic), and common installation tools.
Understanding of site safety practices and DCD regulatory procedures.

Pay: Up to AED1,500.00 per month
